Law Enforcement Technical Section

About Us

Formed in the 1950s to seek uniformity of regulations and interpretation of laws on state boundary waters, and to reduce criminal activity on islands in the Mississippi River.

River officers coordinate on policy that facilitates effective cooperative enforcement of emerging threats on the river across state boundaries.

Current Priorities

  • Bank to Bank cooperative law enforcement
  • Emerging international trade in UMR species
